Serbia / Official Opening

The fifth exhibition of Danube countries in the LeuchtBox on December 16, 2005 was devoted to the country of Serbia. Well, to be entirely correct, the exhibition was about Serbia and Montenegro, however, since the time of the exhibition, one country was split into two, following the long path of peaceful secession. This fact, as well as many other historic and cultural details in combination with its affiliation with the great river makes Serbia one of the most exciting countries the LeuchtBox exposes. The Serbian Consul General Zeljko Vlahovic cut the ribbon opening the LeuchtBox on the Danube River in Passau for many guests and visitors who were captivated to learn about Serbia, its people, culture and history. The ceremony continued with a Serbian dish being offered to guests. Due to the winter weather, the guests were also happy about Glühwein, a hot and sweet red wine enhanced with spices.
