Austria / Opening Event

On November 25, 2004 the first of nine exhibitions was opened. With the First Mayor of Passau, Albert Zankl and many distinguished guests in attendance, Dr. Christian Lassmann (General Consul of Austria) cut the ribbon opening the LeuchtBox on the Danube River in Passau. Guests and visitors were captivated to learn many interesting facts about Austria, its people, culture and history. The official opening took place accompanied by the performance of the vocal group “Scardinga” from Schärding, Passau’s close Austrian neighbor. Austrian cuisine and wine gave a successful sensual impression of the country exhibition. Austria was the first victorious step in the intercultural life of Passau.
